Design
The martingale design is intended to be both gentle on your dogs neck and keep them safe by helping to prevent them from slipping their collar. This is especially important for dogs that have smaller heads than necks ie sighthounds. This will only work when fitted correctly; below are details of how to fit.
The collar consists of a larger fabric covered webbing loop that acts as the collar section with a smaller webbing control loop. The larger loop also has an adjuster and two metal control rings. The smaller webbing control loop also has fitted a small D ring to attach a lead.
Please note that collars may not be exactly same as the one on display due to design patterns. Also be aware that colours can vary between individual monitors so if your unclear please do get in touch.
Fitting
All Dogs on Bikes collars are fitted with an alloy adjuster so they can be fitted perfectly!
It is recommended that when fitting you first loosen the collar to fit comfortably over your dogs head then adjust when in position on their neck.
The martingale should be in position behind the ears and then adjusted to fit so that when the control loop is tightened there is a two finger gap between the two large control rings. The metal control rings should never meet or overlap when the collar is tightened as this will stop the design function of the collar.
Below is Boris showing you the correct way to fit his collar. This is what yours should look like after fitting correctly.

Measuring
To measure for a collar, please use the diagram below as a guide.
For a martingale collar the crucial measurements are A and B. They should be used to determine the correct size to order ie if A is 15"/ B is 14"/ C is 17" then the correct size to order would be standard (14" - 17").

You can use either a soft tape measure, or if you don't have one a non-stretchy piece of string and a ruler will do.
- Around the widest part of the head
- Behind the ears and around the neck
- Around the base of the neck where the Martingale collar rests
